Gadolinium

Kane Legal is reviewing the following injuries caused by Gadolinium®:

  • Renal Failure

If you or a loved one has taken gadolinium and has experienced renal failure, please call Kane Legal for a free consultation.

Gadolinium is a contrast medium for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).  It is used to visualize CNS lesions with abnormal vascularity in the brain, spine, and associated tissues, and to visualize body lesions with abnormal vascularity within the thoracic (noncardiac), abdominal, pelvic cavities, and retroperitoneal space.

On May 23, 2007, the Food and Drug Administration (F.D.A.) issued a boxed warning for all MRI contrast dyes urging caution in patients with impaired kidney function.  In February of 2008, reports that gadolinium-based agents may be associated with nephrogenic systemic fibrosis (NSF) surfaced.

  • NSF is only reported to occur in patients with pre-existing kidney disease.  It is a disease of fibrosis of the skin and internal organs

If you or a loved one has been affected by gadolinium, you may be entitled to compensation.  For a free legal consultation, please contact Kane Legal.
