  • Zinc Poisoning
    • Anemia
    • Numbness
    • Paralysis

Poligrip and Fixodent users who experience Zinc poisoning may have legal resource. Recently, several adhesive denture creams have been taken off the market, due to their link to anemia and various neurological symptoms. The commonly marketed products are manufactured by, GlaxoSmithKline and Proctor and Gamble.

Many of the denture creams manufactured use zinc, which helps as an adhesive. However, recent studies have indicated that these creams can cause numerous zinc toxicities. Symptoms of zinc poisoning include: anemia, numbness, tingling, weakness in the arms or legs, and even paralysis.

The brands that have been found to cause these symptoms include GlaxoSmithKline’s Super Poligrip Original, Super Poligrip Ultra Fresh, and Super Poligrip Extra Care, which have since been removed from the market following a litany of lawsuits against GlaxoSmithKline. Proctor and Gamble continues to manufacture brands of Fixodent, albeit with a warning to not use more than the recommended daily allowance, for fear of zinc poisoning.

Our firm has extensive experience in handling cases involving defective pharmaceutical products. If you or a loved one has experienced symptoms of zinc toxicities due to the use of zinc-containing denture cream, contact KANE LEGAL experts for an evaluation of your case.
